Focus Programs Course Guide >> Focus Programs are a "package" of courses and work experience developed to give students a head start in a particular field of interest. Students from any school may participate in any of the programs offered accross the board. The Ottawa Catholic School Board has focus programs in many different areas, from Broadcast Media to Outdoor Education, Robotics to Hairstyling and Aesthetics, or Emergency Response to Guitar Studies.
Specialist High Skills Major Programs >> Specialist High Skills Major Programs allow students to focus their learning on particular economic fields of interest. For example Health and Wellness, Environmnet, Energy, Horticulture and Landscaping, and transportation are all SHSM programs. The programs are designed to help students in their transition from high school into College, University or apprenticeship programs in their chosen field.

Dual Credits Program

The Dual Credit program is a school/college/work initiative that is offered by three Eastern Ontario colleges in partnership with nine area school boards. Students participate in apprenticeship training and/or postsecondary courses, earning dual credits that count towards both their high school diploma and their postsecondary diploma, degree or apprenticeship certification.
The program is for students who desire learning opportunities outside of high school and who would benefit from a college or apprenticeship experience. To ease scheduling, many students take their dual credit course in conjunction with their high school cooperative education program.
Students in the Ottawa Catholic School Board's Dual Credit program have the opportunity to:
Request for course change form: This form must be completed signed, and brought to student services for any desired course changes.
